help with software update

hi all I recently purchased a new laptop with windows 8.1 and have realised it is not compatable with pro tools 10 which I currently have. just wondering if I purchase an upgrade to pro tools 12 will this work? I do not have my installation disk but I do have my iLOK key. needing to get pro tools on here asap as my previous pc crashed
