How do I use Avid Plug-ins PT 11 - user error

Hi, I'm brand new here and I'm hoping someone will take pity on me. I come from an analog recording studio background. Now using Pro Tools 11 to record audio book narration and used an audio engineer to help set up templates. Have 2 books finished and on audible.com. Now I've got QC issue involving too much compression. I've read the manual and tried to find the answer in the FAQ. My brain is not processing HOW to set up the Avid plug-ins to work AFTER the recording. The engineer set them up (he thought it would be faster) to process the recording AS it is being done. He's not available now. I need to record RAW, then apply plug-ins after and master that way. As it is I have recordings (11 chapters) I can't undo the pre-set levels. Lots of time involved and I need some help. As stated, I'm new here (aka a virgin) so please be gentle.

No problems with software or computer. This is solely operator brain freeze.
