I'm planning on upgrading my son's system from a PC to Mac. Two reasons: PC sucks im The combination pt11/maudio interface/win7 (especially the unstable asio4all driver im combination with the difficult to understand win7 audio config), second - this would be a graet 'leaving home for adult life' present. So I was wondering if a 4 year old MB pro or slightly newer iMac to choose? He is mainly recording guitars, vocals, ocassional VI. Ive heard the MBP is going crazy hot working with pro tools, but on the other hand it is more mobile device. What would you suggest?
