Okay, maybe a not so smart question!

I have recorded audio from a band practice session. I want to add a keyboard part, but, I don't own a Keyboard (yet), but, I do have plugin's that will sound like I have a full-blown keyboard. I'm thinking of purchasing a not-too-expensive keyboard (say, an M-Audio 61 key midi board). How is it "hooked" up to the computer and when I create an instrument track and select the Hammond B-3, will it sound like a B-3 and be able to control it like a B-3 from that keyboard?

I said it isn't a so smart question but if I knew the answer, I wouldn't be asking. If anyone answers, could you please post a sound file of what it should sound like and how it was hooked up and achieved?
