My usual recording chain has been...Plug in the guitar, mic the amp, connect the mic to my Neve, connect my Neve to the Apogee Rosetta AD. I know have a Eleven Rack hooked up to a new Retina iMac running ProTools 11. Some people tell me to bypass the Apogee because the converters are old. Newer converters in the Eleven Rack are on the same level of the Apogee since the Apogee is like 20 years old.
What do you guys think? Only other interface I have is the Eleven Rack. The Apogee I have is the 48k one...not the 96k. But I believe you can still upgrade it.
