For a long time now I have not attempted the bounce to disk option. I have the Alesis Master link which I know that a lot of you don't have much good to say about! I just finished a session and to me it sounds pretty darn good so I decided that I would attempt a bounce to disk. I followed the PT's 9 reference manual instructions to the letter with the addition of the dither as the last insert on the master track. Here are my bounce setup selections:
Output 1-2 (stereo) output 1-2.
File type. WAV
Bit Depth. 24, (dithered to 16).
Sample Rate = 48Khz.
Conversion quality, (This is greyed out in my PT's version). not selectable.
Enforce PT's Audio compatibility. checked.
Conversion options. (Greyed out in my PT's version) not selectable.
Import Audio after bounce. Checked.
Every time I click on bounce I get a window called publishing options with two boxes, a) Comments. and b) clip name. I have no comments and I assume that by clip name they mean the name of the song(?).
Target time code format, (I'm at a loss on this one to. It's selectable and the number 25 is selected so I leave that one alone.
When I reach that point I get another window telling me I must name the clip so I call it the song name.
Then a window that shows All Audio files included, Save.(yes).
When I finally click on Bounce, A window appears that says, (Song Name L.wav would overrite files used by this session. OK,Check. Save, check.
Now I'm finally off to the races but, after the bounce finishes the new stereo track is greyed out,(inactive)! Something to do with Elastic Audio ?? All my tracks are Ticks and Polyphonic. So, what does this mean and how do I fix it? My apologies for the long winded explanation but I'm sure if I left anything out someone would be quick to say that they need more details! Maybe The Masterlink isn't such a bad thing!:eek:
