"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I've been running a legacy HD3 system (PT 8.0.3) on a 2009 Nehalem Mac with 16GB of RAM for years. Despite some replaced components to keep it alive longer, my Mac is becoming more trouble than it's worth, and after all this time, unreliable. Obviously no shortage of plug-ins are out of the question as well.
I stopped following PT development. I don't know what version 9 was like, to say nothing of 10+. I don't want to update all my hardware unless there is some super compelling reason to. But I would love to hear your thoughts on the most painless, reliable upgrade path for me to take. I figure it's some before-the-black-trashcan Mac which might still run my legacy cards, but I just have no idea.
I figured if you guys don't know, nobody knows...
Thanks,
_Mike
