Expansion pack install problem

I have read in many forums about other users who have had issues with installing the Expansion pack, this appears to have been ongoing for years!.
I have recently purchase the Expansion pack and I am having the same problem.
When I run the installer I am prompted for the Serial No and System id,I copy and paste the 2 codes directly from the email sent from Avid but every time I get the same error, (the system id entered does not match system id on record
for this serial number).
How can this be?,when they supplied both numbers,I have uninstalled Internet explorer? as suggested,I have cleared the Internet history? as suggested,I have tried using a Windows xp 32 bit laptop with the exact same result !!!.
Since I have read that this has been an ongoing problem for years now with Avid saying they do have a problem then they say its fixed, but people including myself are still having problems I would dare to say it has NOT been fixed.
If any one has any ideas that would help I would be very grateful,as so far Avid Tech support has not,other than fobbing me off with more time wasting recommendations to "Clear this" or "Uninstall that" none of which make any difference other than to use up my 60 Days free tech support time.
After which I will probably be left £63 light and no further on with the issue,
