Fades

(Windows 7/64; PT 11.3)

I have a portion of a tune that has a clip made of several clips grouped together. I've had it happen a billion times before and I just create a crossfade at point of the crime and it goes away. This time, the system doesn't allow me to create a fade in that spot (grayed out when you access it from the edit menu.)

I searched on YouTube and found a few things, one of which suggested to draw a manual crossfade. The tool doesn't change to the crossfade symbol for me to do it.

If anyone has experience with this and knows a way out, please let me know.
