Izotope has shot their credibility in the foot with the marketing for this plugin. I would not could not use this plugin on my final mix stem(s) as suggested due to the delay introduced. I downloaded the demo and installed it on my Pro Tools HDX2 rig. A single AUX fader with Final Mix instantiated introduces 3772 samples of additional delay. The audio delay can be compensated for with delay comp but not the delay introduced as fader lag (plugin inserted downstream from source fader) if you are using a control surface. If you choose to substitute DSP versions from other manufactures as an alternative...Pro Limiter, Pro MultiBand, McDSP EQ for example the delay introduced is 135 additional samples of delay, Native version of these plugins only add 39 additional samples of delay. The marketing hype for Izotope Mix was a plugin for Post and inserted at the last stage. In a large session my plugin choices are dictated by function, quality, and if adding a Plugin to an Aux fader, how much delay will be introduced.
I am a Dynamic EQ junkie and I do like the clean interface of this plugin. On the plus side this plugin is the first (only?) MultiChannel Dynamic EQ that I have seen.
If there is a way to cut down on the delay I hope someone from Izotope will comment.
