MIDI note off velocity

I've been working more and more in Digital Performer 8.07 and I see something I've not seen before in PT's MIDI event list - MIDI note off velocity. I know that it exists but haven't seen it before in PT or Sonar. Does anybody have any idea of why it exists and where it would be useful? Any vi's that respond to it?

I know PT's MIDI implementation is pitiful but if this event is really useful or necessary PT would include it wouldn't they? :rolleyes:

Or is there a view filter setting I'm missing?
