I am still confused on the 12 thing and what to do. Many I have talked with are done with pro tools. What I have been reading is it works good, it doesn't. There is an upgrade or and subscription if I understand?

I am actually starting to think what else is good beside pro tools for the home user. I have been with pro tools since 6 but very confused now.
