Well, I've had my S3 for 3 days now, and with the encouragement of J-S-Q, I'm successfully running Cubase 8.0.20 with it. I'm much impressed, but there is one mystery.
First, I'm using the latest EuCon 3.2.2, on a PC Win 7 box, did the firmware update, etc. Most everything is amazing even in Cubase, but the LED level meters don't seem to work.
Day 1, Turn it on, and only the channel LED level meters linked to stereo channels work, mono channels are dark. So I retire to research the manuals.
Day 2, tried tweaking the level meter settings inside Cubase, no joy, and the S3 manual was no help. But... I noticed that the level meters were responding for the first time in the upper OLED displays. So when in trouble, push random buttons, and it worked! The S3 was in Layout mode A, and the LED level meters immediately started working when I selected layout mode B. Back to A, and they continue to work through the end of day. (Note, I have not even touched the EuCon config settings, so all layouts are default.) Also note, stereo, mono, and FX channels worked, but not VCA channels.
Day 3, open the Day 2 project, and mono level meters are no longer working. (stereo working OK). Tried more tweaking with no results.
So this is no deal killer for me, as I much appreciate how well it works with Cubase right out of the box, but I feel like I am missing something.
Anyone have any clues to solve the mystery?
