I am an Artist and I simply need a DAW that I can record my written music to and send to my management team. Because we are working remotely and I am still working in the secular world as my Music Career takes off (which is happening faster than I realize), I need to have my own DAW on my laptop.
I have all the hardware, but up until now I've been downloading the PT's 11 trial versions but my Ilok won't allow me to use it for the trial versions anymore.
The question is where and how do I download PT 12 and be able to use my Ilok for it?
Is PT's 12 compatable with 11 and if so, can someone that does not have 12 still open my music as long as I don't add any MIDI's? -AND-
Will my production team on the other end be able to open up my "tracked out" versions that I bounce to them if they don't have ProTools12 but have 10, or 11?
And overall what is your opinions of the software?
