003R S/PDIF issues with Rosetta 200

Hi Everyone,

For some unknown reason S/PDIF communication with my Apogee Rosetta 200 has ceased to exist ... everything was fine , no updating and then nothing .... at first the light for sync wouldn't even come on the 003R , I'm trying to use the Rosetta as the master clock ... now after trying multiple things the light is on but there is no audio going either from the Rosetta or back in. Earlier I had no light and could not get audio into the 003R via S/Pdif but I could play a virtual instrument and send it back out of the 003r into the Rosetta via S/Pdif and get audio .... it's just simply gone haywire ! Here are the system specifics:

21" iMac 2.7 Ghz core i5 Running 10.9.5
Pro Tools 11.3.1
Apogee Rosetta 200
Digidesign 003R (Not sure of what the firmware is )

I did try and get the latest firmware and after that the 003's sync light is on but no audio will pass either direction ...

I don't have any idea if it's hardware , or software ... I really feel like it may be more software related but I'm pretty stumped at this point.

I'm thinking about doing a clean re-install of Pro Tools .... might try that.

Also ... I'm also getting the dreaded iLok message saying it's not authorized but of course it is and after pulling the iLok out and putting it back in it will finally work ....

Should have stuck with my old 002r and Pro Tools 9 ... Solid as a rock .... this sucks ...
