Not sure if this is a UA/Apollo question, or Pro Tools issue, but let's start here.
I'm using my silver face Apollo Quad with Windows. I always use Console when tracking, rarely ( and why?) when mixing.
I am setting up Hardware inserts in Pro Tools 11. So far, so good. Ch. 1 insert is going into an Electrodyne 511, signal makes the round trip on schedule. Same for Ch. 2, which is going thru a Rupert Neve Designs 551. ch. 3 is going thru an API 550B. All work as expected.
The problem is Ch. 4. Going thru an AMS Neve 1073LBEQ, I get a meter reading on the Apollo VU LED's for Ch.4, but no audio is coming back, and no signal registers on the meter for that channel in the mix view of Pro Tools.
Because of the meter action on Ch. 4 of the Apollo, I have to think signal is properly routed into the Ch. 4 device, processed, and returned to Apollo waiting to be routed to the appropriate channel in Pro Tools.
Except it doesn't. When in non-insert mode, that is tracking with a microphone, signal goes all the way from mic source to the designated channel and track in Pro Tools. So no apparent cabling issue.
I have checked all mapping/routing options, and everything for that channel seems to be consistent with the other channels (6 total so far) I set up for hardware inserts.
So what gives? Apollo set up problem? Pro Tools glitch? AMS Neve issue?

Routing/mapping problem? Inserts?
