Will Rewire Ever Be a 2-Way Street?

I've raised this before, but I thought with the release of 12.3, I'd mention it again. Will it ever be possible to make Rewire a 2 way street so we can route audio FROM a PT audio track TO, say Reason, add some Reason fx (ie Aligator) and send back to PT?

What's preventing Rewire from going either way?
