Hey guys,
At times, when I am editing or mixing, I'll get a full level noise blast. I realized it also happens randomly when I press play as a reverb is still playing.
I'm currently on Pro Tools 12.3, but this used to happen on 11 as well.
Is there any culprit that anyone is aware of? As far as plugins, I'm using H-Reverb, H-Delay, Waves Gold, Slate VMR, Slate VTM, Soundtoys Devil-Loc/Little Microshift and Stock Pro Tools plugins. Nothing too fancy either; basic automation rides and delay throws.
My computer is a Late 2013 Mac Pro 3.5 Ghz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, 16GB 1866 DDR3 Ram. Session is running off of a G-Tech Studio Thunderbolt hard drive.
Interface is an Apogee Symphony I/O via Thunderbolt.
I doubt it's the Symphony. I actually sent it to get checked a month ago to make sure it wasn't the cause of these noise blasts. Everything was good on it, so it must be something within Pro Tools.
This is a very alarming issue. The blast is so loud that it hurts my ears and I am afraid of it blowing my monitors, and God forbid, hurting my client's ears. I need to resolve this quickly.
Thanks!
