Crossfade betweeen tracks in 12.3

Unlike in previous versions, in PT 12.3.1, crossfading clips that are on different tracks seems not to work anymore. It creates a fade in and a fade out. I know it's technically the same but it used to create them according to the default crossfade link type, set in the preferences (Equal power in my case). Now it creates them according to default fade in and out link type (Equal gain in my case). I find it quite inconvenient for dialogue editing.
Am I missing a setting somewhere to revert to the previous behaviour ?
