I'm at a university running Pro Tools 12.2.1 in Macintosh labs where each user has an individual university-wide login. The iMacs are from various years (2011-2015) but all are running Yosemite.
We're having a variety of problems with Pro Tools' performance that seem to differ based on who's logged in. For some students, PT simply won't launch. One student will get an "unable to create index for editor slide files error... need administrator privileges" error, while a different student on the same computer does not. The problem goes away when logged in as an administrator.
We are also running Media Composer in the same lab with no issues. We did previously have significant permissions issues with Media Composer in our labs but thought it was solved until these issues started popping up with PT. This is our first time installing PT across all these computers.
Any ideas of what's going on here? Thanks.
