Native HD or HDX for Music?

I'm currently running an HD6 Accel rig on a Mac 12 core. The rig is solid, sounds great, only issue is that I get close to running out of voices at 96k. Big mixes using lots of native plugs get a little wonky - cpu meter can get a little crazy. (Part of it seems to be related to using lots of UA plugs, as if the trip to and from the quad and octo cards burdens the native side of things.)

I work in stereo only, no plans for surround.

Anyway, am considering going to HDX. I already have the card, but it can be returned for a few more weeks. I'm wondering if I should return it and go Native. I am also considering sticking with the HD Accel rig - it works, it's paid for, I think I can run it for at least a few more years.

What does HDX really add over HD Native? I'm seeing claims that an HD Native rig can actually run more plugs than an HDX rig running dsp and native. Also, I need to track up to 32 inputs at once.

Any suggestions? Any users who have spent plenty of time on both systems?

Best....H
