I suspect there "there are no rules" is at least part of the answer, but I am quite curious to hear any wisdom from more knowledgeable than myself. I'm not even sure I'm asking the right questions.
The Plug In Alliance site has many plugs listed and identified as "Mastering". Are there any advisable limitations to using any of the plug-ins elsewhere in your session, or is it a matter of processing power?
I like to use the BX_Limiter all over the place as a brick-wall, but also have used some of the other features to modify tone as it's already loaded. The BX_Digital V2 is a quite handy EQ. I've used it on sub-mixes before. Is any of this bad?
I guess a compressor like the Alpha is really made for Mastering, but if it's usable in something like a drum-mix bus, is there some sort of reason that it's not advisable to do so?
Thanks in advance!
