I decided to return to Pro Tools 6 months ago, after two years of Cubase. I do not regret, but today, I hesitate ...
I try to place two virtual pianos, admittedly quite heavy, two Vienna Imperial. Nothing else in the session. I have a powerful PC with an I7 processor (3.5GHz Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell CPU), 32 megs of RAM, SSDs, and my configuration corresponds to the advice of Avid.
But my two pianos are fast asleep, for example if I change a function, even without listening, as the percentage effect of a pedal. I tried everything. We have to wait 3-4 minutes before the wake pianos. I think PT 11 was better on this point. I do not remember, so it must be better!
So I go to Cubase (8.5). Everything is going perfectly, no slowdown, no bug. I will what I want in real time. I do not do publicity for Steinberg, but sh ... requires that it works!
Yet AVID told us about power! Someone with this problem?
