I just came across my old library of Soundfonts and I’m wondering it it’s worth the trouble to see if I can get them to play using any of the instruments I have working with PT (MP8). I have available xPand, Structure free and Kontakt. If they’re not directly compatible, are there any easy-to use convertor tools or RTAS plugins?
I know the sounds probably don’t come close to modern instruments, but there may be at least a few that I may find usable. There are still a few sounds I use from my old synth, and those are only 8 bit samples.
Back when I discovered soundfonts, I had yet to evolve to a DAW – I had an ADAT for audio, some PC program for MIDI and a Soundblaster that supported soundfont user banks.
