Running an Mbox mini on a Toshiba Satellite P70-A-129 (i7-4700MQ 2.40GHz, 8GB RAM) with an original Windows 8.1 License.
Same goes for the ProTools 11 that came with the Mbox.
I've had to reinstall Windows because of this, I'm attaching an archive of dump files from BSOD crashes before. (Most of them point to AvidMboxMini.Sys I think)

Since I reinstalled Windows, I haven't been getting any crashes. However, I discovered that using the latest driver from the Avid website for the Mbox caused ProTools to not recognize it.
I had to go to the "Device Drivers" that came with the Mbox and install the driver from there. Sound still works, ProTools now sees the Mbox, everything is fine.
Here's where the problems start, and it's exactly like before. When I switch from Winamp to YouTube or from YouTube to ProTools, there's no sound. I have to go to the Windows sound options and switch from 16 to 24 bit or back. (Tried using 32, same thing, I just have to specify a different value there to get sound back on).
No BSOD yet, but I'm sure it's coming, already started having audio glitches when playing streaming video (on YouTube and Vimeo). The sound just skips and repeats for 3-4 seconds then it plays again.
Anyone have issues with Windows 8.1 and Avid/ProTools drivers?
Need help.
