New trash can mac pro

I am working wit someone that has a new mac pro (he edits video) and he can copy an Avid 1 hour tv program with the avid codec at 1920X1080 in about 2 minutes! It takes my computer about 18 minutes to copy the same program. Even if PT itself runs at the same speed on a trash can as in my older Mac Pro tower, it seems that the extra speed for all other tasks is incredibly fast. This could save me hours and hours of work, can anybody confirm that these machines are that fast?
