soloing a drum bus with hidden tracks?

I've created a bus for my drum sub-mix. I can hide all the tracks that make up the sub-mix and just show the aux track that controls the bus. Great.



If I click the solo button on that track, I can't hear anything. I have to unhide the tracks that make up the bus.



I added all these to a mix group and told it to link solos, but that didn't help. Seems if the track is hidden, it will not participate.



Have I missed something or is there any way around this?
