Hi Community,
Is anyone using AMD Piledrive 8 core CPU with Pro tools?
Im looking at an upgrade and bang for buck these seem great :-). I know the i7 beats it in terms of performance (having looked at the reviews on the web), but 8 substandard cores over 4 superior ... (?). Thoughts? The i7 processors are quite a bit more money.
I hear the Pro tool development team "take advantage of i7 internal coding" meaning they have optimized the software for the i7. This was on another forum. Is this true?
I currently use Intel Q6600 2.4 GHz quad, I max this out these days. Is anyone else tempted by the bang for bucks?
