I like protools and have been using it for over 10 years, it's like riding a bike for me and though i have other DAW's they don't feel like home for me ...with that said ...Patient PT user here but not for much longer can only take paying tons of cash for every update and not have most wanted features not addressed , After a long conversation with a bunch of fellow producers, engineers, mixers, here are a few things we'd like to see in version 11/12, which i'd be very surprised if avid doesn't realize these are features that people would like to see.
First off a positive that was added in Pt 11- Ram cache is amazing as is dynamic plugin processing and the new meters - with that said there is much to be improved upon .
in order of importance and priority:
First off please fix more of the bugs in PT 11, Add Track Freeze, Track bounce in place plus batch if you want to do multiple at a time say to print VI's) Track folders to the arrange window, The ability to do track stacks ( come's in handy for VI's ) , Overall Midi Enhancements are needed , Convert Drum Transients to midi or audio trigger function ( Massey Drt plugin offers this and it currently is not working with with pt 11), Plugin Chains and the ability to save them and with a click have them on your tracks ( without importing data each time) , the ability to open up more than one session at a time, Playlist editing- the ability to Swipe for take editing and comping.
