Can't seem to insert a plugin on an artist control

I'm running Yosemite and pt11HD with an artist control v2. I did a search and came up blank so I thought I would ask. Can anyone insert a plugin into an audio track with this setup? I can select the audio track. I can click on the insert wheel and see my insert areas. But, when I click on an insert to insert my plugin into I get nothing. No list of plugins. Is this a known issue?
