Pro Tools 11 and Scarlet 2i4

I am having difficulty trying to record with microphone after creating an audio track and record enabling it, I got it to work once and for some reason the input and outputs are not properly set up and my Scarlet 2i4 interface or Lenovo touch screen series 5 Desk tops Windows 8.1 shuts it down...windows has yet to figure out "the problem" and I spend 100 dollars on two people who visited my studio and none were able to fix it...I will count the loss and buy another program as well if no one can tell me the secret to getting this 300 dollar crap to work properly
