Maybe a stupid Question? Can 48v be connected to 192 or HD I/O without damage??

Ok, I have always avoided this, but will the 192 and HD I/O accept a 48v signal without causing damage? (Seems as though a simple zenner diode could handle this task if needed)



I ask because I always avoid it, but frequently I am in live situations where the only available connections on splitters could have 48v supplied



I'm just wondering if I really need to avoid this or not
