record aux inputs?

I have 8 external preamps routed to my digi003 8 inputs. I would also like to occasionally record an external input that is patched into the AUX inputs on the digi003 without getting back there and manually patching the cables in.



from what i understand the AUX inputs are like an alternative to inputs 7 and 8. You toggle between them using the AUX button on the front panel. You can't use both (AUX and 7/8) at the same time.



I can hear the audio coming in on the AUX input but can't record it to a track.
