Why is Pro Tools so sensitive

I'm really sick of Pro Tools (9). I don't understand why whenever ANYTHING out of the ordinary goes wrong, it crashes. Kontakt crashes...pro tools crashes...to much ram used....pro tools crashes. Why can't Pro Tools just tell me to chill out on something, and keep going? I know this sounds babyish, but it really is perplexing why the developers didn't put some kind of buffer btw errors and pro toll's ability to function.
