In my main room I have PT 11.2.2 HDX1 on Mac OSX 10.8.5. Our edit rooms are still running PT 8.1. If I import a small amount of stuff, it seems ok. But if I import a LOT of stuff -- like 20 tracks of backgrounds, or 30 tracks of foley for a feature-length project -- I get problems.
Just now I imported a ton of foley tracks and I make sure that I COPY the files. I did some NR work on some files, then Pro Tools suddenly tells me that ALL my new files are OFFLINE. I closed the session and re-open and sure enough, PT cannot find the file. And, it won't relink them. I can't copy and relink. Nothing seems to work short of importing the tracks all over again.
Same thing happened with background tracks a few days ago.
Is PT11 Session Data Import from PT 8 broken? Anyone else seeing this? It APPEARS to be Pro Tools being really lousy at database and file management...it appears to want to LINK to the files on these other systems in other rooms.
