Second Sound Card a Requirement for all HDN users?

With Avid's stubborn refusal to allow multi-client access to the HD Native driver, I'm wondering if everybody who uses HDN automatically assumes they'll need a second sound card/interface to be able to use handy programs such as Basehead, Izotope RX, Sound Forge, etc., without having to exit PT every time? Seems pretty strange to me that my $5,000 Omni package can't meet all my audio needs. Or am I missing some neat trick?
