I waited until I was mostly finished with my current project to upgrade and I'm glad I did. Now, playback has a grainy distortion all the time. I don't know if an audio driver is messed up or what. It seems like something isn't handling the bit depth or sample rate correctly. I can hear the good audio, but all the sound has a sizzling distortion that comes and goes with the audio. When there is silence, the distortion is not heard.
All other audio sounds okay on the Mac - unless it's coming through the built-in speakers. This Mac has always had a software problem with the built-in speakers. I have Apple Care. I had the MacBook diagnosed and they determined it is software. At some point, I have to wipe my Mac and reinstall everything. Maybe that is related to this new issue with Pro Tools' audio. I love when I upgrade and everything gets worse.
Anyway, if you have any suggestions please let me know.
