Dell vs. HP for first PC system?

I am purchasing my first Pro Tools package for home recording and wanted to get some advice on the best hardware to use. There are different Dell and HP systems listed (some of which are no longer available) and I wondered if there are any other new users who have suggestions on what kind of hardware to buy? Thanks.
