I have been struggling with an issue since I upgraded to pt HD11. Yesterday I upgraded to 12 but this issue still exists...
Whenever I have the disk cache feature enabled (set to 2 gigs or higher which is plenty of size for the session), it works fine for the first session I load after booting the pc.
When I close that session and load a different one, the session starts to cache (I can see this via the meter) but PT will lock up and will require a restart before I can get it back open. There is no error message.
This behavior is consistent and repeatable.
I am using a Mac Pro 2010 dual quad core xeon with 28 gigs of ram running Windows 7 pro SP1. Audio and sessions are on a dedicated internal sata drive (with plenty of free space). The os is configured as a dedicated pro tools machine following all avid guidelines.
If I set the disk cache to "normal", I experience no issues. I have no issues using the timeline cache feature in PT10+CPTK.
Any ideas? Please let me know if you need further information.
Thanks.
