Old Mac 10.3 Panther to Digi-02 Rack

My problem is that my old computer can't see my new external hard drive that has some real studio tracks on it. What can I upgrade my Mac to and still be able to connect to the Digi-02 rack? From what I have read, they stopped support for the Digi-02 rack at about Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger), but the new hard drive can only be read by Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or higher. How can I get the recorded files off the New external hard drive and onto the Mac without going to high and not being able to connect to the Digi-02?
