Hi guys,
First time poster here. I'm still a noob when it comes to Pro Tools so bear with me because it's most likely a simple answer for most of you guys. It has more to do with the registration than with the actual DAW itself.
So I bought Pro Tools 11 off Amazon and I received the activation card and the ilok it came with. I registered for the ilok and Avid accounts, did that whole process. So when I finally got to the download page, Avid provided me with only Pro Tools 12 and Pro Tools 10 files. I was disheartened because I was happy I was finally going to have Pro Tools 11 for my projects, but alas Avid did not provide the links.
I would've just gotten 12 and not have had to post this, but I have my reasons why I didn't want to, just like some of you may have as well. That's for another thread. Anywho, I told my buddy in one of my classes about it, and he actually had a Pro Tools 11 installer that we copied over to my drive and into my MBP. It installed perfectly except that it doesn't have any of the AIR Collective Plug-Ins.
So here's my (perhaps dumb) question and dilemma: if I installed 11, but it wasn't downloaded off my Avid account, can I return the activation card and ilok key (that I may have prematurely activated) to get my money back? Or is what I paid for an actual license for Pro Tools and it was already taken up by the Pro Tools 11 I installed, so there's no way I can get a refund? My ilok and Avid account are linked so I'm guessing a Pro Tools installation is already registered on my Avid account (if that's how it works at all). There's already a Pro Tools 11 license registered on my ilok account.
