Good evening everybody, and thank you all so much for your help in advance!
I recently build a brand new PC for my composing/mixing needs. It is a hybrid but essentially runs with the newest Intel i7 and Windows 8.1.
I am sure other posts have been written about this subject, but in my googling j keep getting conflicting answers. Basically, when I start the install process, I am asked to plug in my hardware, which I do. The download then starts and hangs up at "Installing Digidesign hardware drivers..." It's now been sitting for about 3 hours with no change.
Is it true that Pro Tools LE 8 (with MBox 2 hardware) no longer functions with Windows 8.1? Or is there another solution that I am missing? I know that PT has taken a while to install in the past, but never 3 hours just on the drivers!!
If for some reason PT LE 8 won't work, any suggestions for upgrades that will still let me retain use of my MBox 2? Obviously, I'd much rather stay with 8 but I'll do what I have to.
