Hello Everybody,
My name is Daniel. I'm new to these parts so be gentle! :)
I just got Pro Tools 12 on subscription and on a trendy Windows 8 System. Hooked everything up with relative success. But so far the only real problem I'm having is a strange noise upon playback of my Midi Instruments.
On the Mini Grand for example and I'm tapping a piano key with my mouse cursor or if I'm playing through my Midi Keyboard, with each note or chord, it rings out with a strange distorted echo sound also with cracking and popping. I read elsewhere that others had a similar issue and simply changed their sample rate. But when i open Pro Tools and attempt to start a new project etc, it won't let me change the rate. It's blacked out and i can't even click it.
The sound on my computer is fine, when i record it's fine, when i play back what i recorded, it's fine. But when it's just idle and I'm fooling around or working something out on an instrument, sounds terrible.
I was able to adjust my buffer size in playback engine, which made the problem a little better, but it is still very noticeable.
Also, probably another stupid question, all videos on the internet don't work when my pro tools is up and running. I am not running anything through a interface just yet, is that the problem??
