Upgrading from Pro Tools 9 to Pro Tools 11 on Yosemite

I have Pro Tools 9, but it will not let me install it on my new Mac because it is running on Yosemite. I spoke to an associate from Guitar Center that assured me a can purchase the upgrade to Pro Tools 11 for $200. Will the upgrade (that will be provided via link) be able to run smoothly on Yosemite?
