12.3.1 new install

I installed 12.3.1 HD last night and this morning i uninstalled Native Instruments and then reinstalled it. The library was on my system drive and I moved it to a Thunderbolt samples drive with all my other instrument libraries. I did all of the updates and everything is working. I'm going to check out the Spectrasonics stuff to make sure I have the latest versions there, too.

So far 12 seems more responsive and less fragile. I've had a couple of noise blasts, and one time where the audio muted. I was able to save and reopen the session with everything in tact and working. So now we see what's in the new program. I don't really expect anything to change or be updated until after Avid's renewal deadline of December 31. Hopefully some fixes will come early in January.

I've been a loud complainer here on the forum. But I haven't been too snarky. There seems to be a lot of Digi hate by some here. I'm not among that camp. I love the program and have made a lot of money knowing and owning it over the years. I just want it to get better and more stable. In 11.3.2, I was able to use many more VI's than before. This morning, I took the time to split out drums with a separate VI for each instrument--K, Sn, Hat, etc in 12.3.2. Seems like I can have many more without the sluggishness I was feeling in 11. So I'm closer to being in the work environment that I want.

That's a good feeling. I'm looking forward to seeing more improvement after the first of the year. But, you can be sure that I'll keep posting if I'm having problems. Things are getting better.

Steve
