Hello, everyone I just purchased and got pro tools up and running today. I was able to hook up most of what I wanted and get it to work except for my old Casio keyboard. Before I begin i'm just going to go ahead and list what I'm using.
-Windows 8.1
-Pro tools 12
-Audio line 6 UX2 Interface (connected, working fine)
-Casio keyboard, with midi I/O ports.
-Casio keyboard adapter, Yamaha UX16. (I/O connected to USB in my computer)
The issue is I am able to hook up my keyboard to my computer but I am getting no output. The first thing I did was obviously connect the adapter from my keyboard to computer. I then went into Pro Tools>Setup>Midi Studio set up. I entered all the correct information, Manufac., model, etc.
I put the "Import" to Yamaha UX16, and the output to my line 6 UX2 audio interface. Afterwards I tried creating a midi track/instrument track, and attempted to record, but got nothing. Do I need to add plugins to the tracks? Is my set up wrong? I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out, thanks for taking the time to read this.
