Need advice/help, trimming snare samples to trigger tightly

Hey folks,

I'm trying to cut up acoustic snare drum multi-samples for use as .wav files in my VI's (BFD/Slate Trigger/Drumagog). I'm using PT 9 HD btw.
So far I've seperated the clips/regions to transient with a pad of 1ms to keep the attack from being off. This is close but I really need to trim the regions/clips closer to the transient or they'll hit too late when I trigger them/have phase issues. I've looked all in the PT Reference Guide but can't seem to find a command like, say, Trim To Transient (seems Avid would have an option like that). Essentially I'm trying to figure out the best way to trim the front end of the samples closer to the waveform so they'll be tighter. Does anyone know the best way to achieve this? Am I going about this the wrong way? Or do ya just have to eyeball it? With Grid set to 1/64ths it's still not close enough, should I be setting Grid to Samples instead and just trimming to the closest samples in front of the waveform? Lastly if there is a way to accurately trim the front of multiple regions simultaneously, how can I do that? Thanks for any input/tips here, I'm new at making samples and really would appreciate the help.
