Thank you Avid. Once again you have made my investment in KY Jelly more profitable. After Spending $599 to get the newest and bluest version of PT12 along with a year of support (which I've never needed) you are now going to charge me $399 (more than half the price of my original purchase price) for the possible privilege of receiving one, possibly two, minor upgrades next year along with support that I probably never need. Additionally, you are offering non HD customers to purchase an "upgrades only" plan (without support) for just $99/yr. HD users, on the other hand, have to pay for a support plan whether they want it or not. Where is the upgrades only plan for PT|HD?
Why are you taxing HD users so heavily? I don't mind paying a premium for the initial HD software purchase - I'm paying for the features that "vanilla" users don't need but power users do. But paying a premium for software upgrades that you make available to both vanilla and HD users is criminal.
I've been a loyal supporter of PT since the original SoundTools days. I've even defended Avid/Digi's seemingly glacial update releases in the past. But the way you keep yanking our chain on upgrade pricing is indefensible.
