Trim Confusion...

I'm sure there is a very(!) basic answer to this but I'm confused (and frustrated).

I'm trying to trim off some dead space at the beginning of a clip.

That was the short, here's more detail. I have a clip with about 40K of samples of generic silence at the start (call it 1 second's worth). My MIDI/tick grid begins at sample 40K (e.g. 1-1-000) and all my VIs/click track work fine. If I do a shuffle delete/clear of the dead audio space, the clip (audio) indeed gets reset (e.g. what was sample 40K is now 0) and audio-wise it's exactly what I wanted. However the MIDI/tick grid is now 40K out of alignment (locked into that 40K start). How do I either (1) get the MIDI/tick info/grid to move to zero when I shuffle clear the dead space or (2) manually move the MIDI/tic grid to 0 samples (from 40K samples)?

{if I do a skip or grid delete of the dead space, certainly the MIDI/tick stay aligned but playback begins at 0 samples so I still have a second of dead air time... I just want to move the whole kit & caboodle so that what was 40K samples is now 0 samples and that's 1-1-000; to say it another way: start a 0 samples/1-1-000 with no dead air}

Thanks.

AMK
